Making up is hard to do
Besides resolving a niggling issue, making up is arguably the best - and trickiest - part of a blazing row.
Whether it's a humble apology or a sincere kiss to break the ice, making the first move means admitting you were wrong.
Field has this advice: "True making up will only happen when both parties feel that their needs are being met. Get things straight and then celebrate how clever you both are and what an amazing relationship you have!"
But if making up is rapidly turning to breaking up, there is a solution, according to relationship counsellor and agony aunt, Suzie Hayman.
"If you're arguing and you can't sort it out, don't be embarrassed or too proud to ask for help. Counselling can help couples in the early stages of marital conflict by unpacking the reasons for conflict and helping them gain the skills to manage arguments in future."
