Argument no-nos

Lynda Field

Spiteful outbursts can trip off our tongues in the midst of an argument but lashing out that he's never satisfied you in bed or that your mum has an avid dislike for his haircut won't achieve a solution.

There are just some things you should never say, according to Lynda Field, director of The Weekend Life Coaching Company.

- Why do you always...

- I can't stand the way you...

- It's all your fault...

"In other words don't say anything that leaves no room for your partner to come back with a positive solution," says Field.

"Being super critical will only ever result in more anger and resentment on both sides. Always ask for what you want in a way that makes your outcome possible."
